    Covid-19 Update For Shipping Times/Procedures

    Because of the ongoing attempts to detain the Covid-19 virus, some countries have put procedures in place that may affect delivery times of your order. We will keep a close eye on the events as they unfold and update this section daily. 

    Below are the countries that we ship to that are currently implementing precautions that may cause delays. This information has been communicated to us directly from Royal Mail.

     

    Countries we are currently not shipping to as advised by Royal Mail.

    These countries currently have no transport links so any orders would be held and customers would experience a significant delay.

    All UK orders

    Royal Mail are working at a reduced capacity at the moment and while they are working extremely hard to ensure all orders are delivered on time, they may be subject to delay.

     

    Europe and Rest of the World 

    The following countries have put special quarantine measures in place against Coronavirus from Monday 16 March. As a result, their postal services need to comply and may have a reduced workforce available, and not be able to deliver mail to specifications, with signatures on delivery suspended in order to prevent any further spread of the infection. Delays to mail services can be expected.

    These following countries are all expected to have delays but have slightly different updates from Royal Mail.

     

    Australia

    Australian Post has informed us that it has suspended signature on delivery for inbound items effective immediately. Delivery will be conducted via limited face-to-face methods to reduce the risk of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by avoiding human contact.

    As result, no recipient signature is obtainable during this period.

     

    Austria

    The Austrian government has extended the measures aimed at slowing the pandemic spread of the corona virus, Covid-19. This means that items are likely to be delayed with varying levels of visibility of tracking events and the capture of signatures.

     

    Cyprus

    Cyprus Post, has implemented special measures as directed by the government of Cyprus to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including the self-quarantining of staff, significant delays are to be expected in the delivery of all inbound mail letter-post and parcel-post.

    In order to avoid human contact, postal items that would ordinarily require written proof of delivery may, with the addressee’s consent, be deposited in the addressee’s mailbox or in a secure location on the addressee’s premises, with signature by the mail carrier.

     

    Estonia

    Estonia Post has informed us that, in order to avoid human contact and reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19, they have suspended signature on delivery for inbound items from Monday, 16 March 2020 until further notice.

     

    Ireland

    An Post have advised that it has suspended signature on delivery for inbound items. Delivery will be conducted via limited face-to-face methods, effective immediately.

     

    Italy

    Italian Post has advised the whole of the country has now become a Yellow Zone, subject to extraordinary measures, which is effective until 3 April or unless a later date is advised. Human movement and social contact are to be minimised. Commercial transport is permitted with precautionary measures aims at preventing/minimising human contact to preserve personal safety, hence a heavy reduction in work force is applied in the logistic chain within Italian Post with impacts to processing and delivery.

    As a result quality of service is affected on all postal products until the end of the Coronavirus epidemic. Precautionary delivery methods continue with signatures not obtainable from the actual addressee during this period.

     

    Latvia

    Latvia Post has advised us that, due to the outbreak and rapid spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and with the emergency situation declared by the Government of Latvia, the processing of all inbound and outbound international mail conveyed via passenger air transport has been suspended with effect from 17 March 2020 until further notice. Delay can be expected while we try to arrange alternative despatches, likely by road.

     

    Lithuania

    Lithuania Post has advised the government of the Republic of Lithuania has declared quarantine on the entire country for a further two weeks (up to 13 April). There will be delays to mail services as a result.

    All items requiriing a signature will be delivered indirectly without signatures being obtained.

     

    Luxembourg

    Post Luxembourg has informed us that it has suspended signature on delivery for inbound items. For safety reasons and with immediate effect, delivery will be conducted via methods which restrict direct contact. For all letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring signature on delivery, the addressee’s signature will be replaced by the postman/woman’s signature, together with the delivery code in the signature field.

     

    Netherlands

    PostNL (the Netherlands postal carrier), has decided that, in accordance with the measures taken to minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the guidelines of the government of the Netherlands, all letter-post, parcel-post requiring signature on delivery will, for health, safety and security reasons, not be signed by anymore at the point of handover to the recipient.

    For these items, the postman will ask the recipient for the last three digits of the recipient’s ID and this information will be entered by the postmen in the signature field of their handheld devices.

     

    Portugal

    Portugal Post has informed us that, as part of measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19, from Monday, 16 March 2020, letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring signature on delivery will no longer be signed during handover to the recipient. Instead, the postal operator will ask for recipient's name and enter details onto their handheld device.

     

    Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Post has informed us that, in accordance with the measures taken to minimize the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) all letter-post, parcel-post items requiring signature on delivery will provisionally be delivered to customers indirectly. Consequently, it will not be mandatory for Saudi Post to provide written proof of delivery and the delivery will be based on a code sent to the addressee’s mobile phone.

     

    Slovenia

    Non-contact delivery has commenced on signature required items from Monday 16 March 2020, and will be performed until further notice.

     

    Spain

    Correos the Spanish postal operators has implemented special measures in order to reduce the risk of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Customers should expect delays and also reduced tracking and signature capture. Correos will be applying strict ad hoc measures in line with government instructions in order to minimise human contact.

    Correos have also significantly reduced the workforce deployed in the logistics chain, with regard to both sorting and delivery.

      

    US

    At the weekend, the US travel ban for passengers from EU countries was extended to include the UK and Ireland. This relates to people, rather than goods. Royal Mail’s International services to the USA remain operational. We continue to accept and process traffic for the USA. Some delays are to be expected due to restrictions on movement to minimise the spread of the virus.

    At West Barn Co.® we will do our very best to process your order within 1 business day. Orders placed by 13:00 GMT Monday to Friday will typically be processed the same day. Orders placed after 13:00 GMT, and on weekends and holidays, will be processed the next business day. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been shipped so you can start getting excited!

    Tracking

    If you selected and paid for the tracked shipping option at the checkout, you will get a tracking reference with your shipping confirmation email. You will find your tracking reference on this email so you can track as your WBCo. parcel as it makes its way to you. Hurrah for modern technology!

    IMPORTANT! If you do not select a tracked postal option, you will not receive a tracking number.
